Gone Fishin'

Our fishin' day was quite adventurous.
But first while at home we had a bit of fine dining and gentle music.

Let's see...

We stuck our noses (almost literally) into the homes of others. Luckily, no one was home.

We had rock-throwing into the lake, and then when no more could be found in our meadow, Maddie tossed in some grass. It left her hands, and slowly drifted down to the ground and water. "Oh, wow!" she said. Not quite what she had expected. Trev and Eric fished.Maddie and I walked around to the other side of the lake. Mama went down in quicksand - to up past her knee. That was a surprise.

We had a gnarly - and I mean glarly! adventure with Dear Truck. This four-wheel drive road we took over the mountain turned vicious on us, and when we got done it took Eric several minutes to calm down. This isn't the one in this picture, we couldn't stop and get out at the other one. Dear Truck was a trooper - which is why we have it - high clearance and meant for off-roading. Still. Was too much for us.

While we were up there, there were several planes and helicopters flying around. We think someone must have been lost. We think they must have been found - it stopped after we were there for a couple of hours.
I must say I'm a bit relieved to be home safe and sound.

(This just in - turns out, it was a three year old little boy who was lost. He was indeed found.)

  1. Your kids are wearing coats? God, I'm jealous.

That looked like a lot of fun, except for the lost 3 year old I bet.

  2. Sounds like quite a day!

I've never been fishing, but it looks so lovely. If they catch something, do you cook it up and eat it?
