January 8

After their Mama got home from the market today with a few bags full of goodies, the children sat at the kitchen table for a little while building with marshmallows and toothpicks.
Spaceships, aircraft, a bridge, and what inadvertently turned out to be The Big Dipper. (Gah! Which is a fantastic idea! Superb, really - for stargazing -summer- weather!)

Supplies were gotten out for sugar shacks (or ice houses, or igloos, or castles, or Whatever May Be), and we got to work building.Trevy, Mama, Maddie

And we read. Things like "Hug Me" and "Kiss Me" and "Be Mine" and "Yes!". :) Sweet words, indeed.
Since we have a relatively mild day outside today, we headed outside for a bit of silly play.
With silly string.
Eventually Daddy got back home after skiing (the babes get to go on Monday instead of today) and now they were off again-- to the park for sledding. woohoo! And Mama got the house to herself. (I'll be gracious and restrain my enthusiasm for this Very Quiet idea.)

Trev's bonding with (via eating) lettuce.Because he thinks a mama should always get "a head of lettuce" at the grocery store.
So I did.

We're now up for dinner, popcorn, and a movie.
I'll be making extra popcorn for a little pretty for the birds tomorrow.
We'll see you then.

  1. Love the houses! I forgot about them, I remember that art & craft circle. Thanks for reminding me about the marshmallows and toothpicks, we have been meaning to do that for a long time, and we happen to have both! Maybe tomorrow or at least in the next few days:)
