We felt it prudent to hang little signs on our light-switches first thing in the morning - to remind us not to switch them on.
And we checked on the garden.
And planted seeds.
We played in the sandbox
and lectured Grammy on The Way of prehistory.
We climbed and swung
and played computer games.
We called ducks and geese while awaiting friends
investigated
and thought about life.
We tested our strength with Daring Fetes
saw the very first wildflowers of the season
and accepted what life had to offer.
We ran with the wild things
and shared imaginings while lying on the earth. We ran more
and climbed more
and swung more
and loved even more.
Eventually we arrived back home
it grew dark
and we read stories by candlelight and used muted, whispering tones.
A soft ending to a gentle kind of day.
I love the photo of your boy in the tree; that is great.

What a great day. I love the feeling your photos evoke. We are inspired to put little signs on our light switches. Lovely spring :)

Anji - It was for Earth Hour. We've tucked them away, now, saving them for next time we decide to do this. I figured if we left them up all the time, we'd just get used to seeing them, and wouldn't think about it.
ReplyDeleteThough today we're on our second day with absolutely no lights during daylight hours! :)
I love how you are able to catch such wonderful moments on film during your day, and that they are always accompanied by such beautiful words :)
ReplyDeleteLovely day!!!!
ReplyDeleteI am so happy that I found your blog. What delightful photos!
