december twenty-ninth

We began our day with Mystery Garden. Maddie would find a good question, and stick with it. "Is it an animal?" And then, "Is it an animal?" :) I finally quit telling her to ask another question, and would just answer her, and move on to Trevelyn's turn.
And we played with our Baffle Blox. I love that game. I love that it's Play.

We had some tidying up. Must get ready for Cousins - and trying to get ready for a New Year's Eve party!
Progress is rather slow, friends. oof.

There was painting, today.

Much like the Nintendo - surprise!!

A beautiful mess.

Cousins are here!!!

There was more painting....

and Hot Chocolate-with marshmallows, of course-

and The Allowance Game

Trevelyn won.

and supper and more Nintendo and computer play and television.

All is well at our house.

  2. Squeee! We *just* got the Mystery Garden for Christmas! It's been our favorite new game. *So* much fun! Maddie really wants it to be an animal, huh? lol

Ainsley only asks "Is it the princess?", "Is it the unicorn?", or "Is it [insert any fuzzy, cute animal]?" Hannah's starting to get the hang of it, but when it's her turn to answer questions, she can't help but give hints. Ains never lasts beyond one question when it's her turn to answer - "Is it a magical creature?" "NO! It's the doggies!!!"

  5. Sarah - lol!! :)

Funny enough, we've had it for like two or three years and I think yesterday was possibly the first time we've actually played it!
Funny that you have it, too. :)

  6. I love the shot of all the kids lined up on the sofa, glued to their Nintendos ~ hopefully, fingers crossed, one is on its way for my boy! They have some really awesome games for those I didn't realize before :)

    Your wreath is truly beautiful.

  8. I love the wreath! Did you make it? It would be perfect for St. Valentine's Day as well.

  9. Phyllis - yeah, it pretty much just goes up after Christmas, and comes down in Spring. :)

I didn't really make it - my friend was getting rid of of the white garland, and I just shaped it into a heart, and I put red roses into it every year. (obviously haven't tended to them yet, this year, as it's lopsided, still.)

It's probably my favorite wreath - I've had it for a couple of years. :)

  11. It's so funny how kids can sit and play those Gameboys next to each other. Mine do that, too.

  12. The baffleblox look much like the pieces in the game Rumis, which my kids love to play with. So fun!
