glow
Maddie is with Grammy at the park, attending a Scottish and Basque concert.
Trev sits on the ground a few feet away from me, talking quietly to himself and recreating a dinosaur age.
Honey is at his desk, tying flies.
I sit on my tidy patio, in the shade,
giant glass of nourishing icewater at my elbow,
a stack of beloved and recalibrating books at my feet,
thoughts drifting quietly and slowly as I watch the flying, flitting things glowing in the sun against the shaded trees.
Easing quietly and peacefully into the Still.
All is well here.

Glad to hear it :) I just raided your archives for book titles, so I thank you for some fabulous reading material soon to be headed our way lol :)
ReplyDeleteSeriously, thanks - and enjoy your undoubtedly lovely evening - so nice Maddie gets a special time with Grammy, and you get a special time with your boys!
This post makes me sigh contentedly.

Ahh.. to sit still and read. That is one of the sweetest pleasures in life for me.
