Now what's this all about, again?
These daily lists of playing,
seeking,
creating,
wondering?
What's the point?
And then I smiled.
Oh, yeah.
It's about celebrating.
Celebrating being enchanted,
celebrating life with these babes,
celebrating discovery,
inquisitiveness,
imagination,
curiosity,
celebrating what's in our hearts,
celebrating the power of our bodies...
Celebrating lying on the grass, and doing what you do best.
Celebrating by swingin' across on the rope swing.
And celebrating sunshine and bare feet.
Celebrating freedom, and ingenuity.
"Mom. I did some engineering, and stabilized the volleyball net. Wanna come see?"
Of course I do.
Anchored to a bucket of sand, water, and a hand-weight, for extra power. :) Brilliant.
Celebrating the freedom to spend time in the sunshine at the patio table, playing games.
Celebrating the freedom to be dogs and kitties and wrestle with your sibling in the backyard.
Even if you're ten.
It's about recognizing the wonder and beauty of Life Magic,
and filling our life up with sooooo much of it,
that it becomes ordinary Life Magic.
Yeah. That's what we're doing here.
And that will do.
I hope I see those "even when you're ten" moments for a long, long time.
ReplyDeleteMy seven-year-old is beginning to thin out and have feet and hands almost as big as his mama's and I feel a flutter of panic every time I notice.
Then, I visit OLM and see Trev lying in the grass with his dinos and I know every thing is going to be O.K.
Made me smile!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's worth celebrating! Everyday.
ReplyDeleteIt is such a beautiful life, and I'm so glad to share it with my babes everyday....not just on the weekends. Thanks for the inspiring post!

Yay for sunshine! Spring is on the way. Thank you for this post. I've been struggling with the how and why lately. Well meaning friends whom are traditional homeschoolers, and my own insecurities. It's a little tough getting back once I've started to lose confidence, but this post has really helped.
ReplyDeleteMaybe I'll feel brave enough to blog about it soon. It always helps me sort my thoughts. Now I've left a book in you comment section, sorry bout that!
Beautiful breath taking ordinary magic! X
ReplyDeleteThank you, I LOVE reading your magic ! YES to celebration !
ReplyDeleteYou are a beautiful inspiration.
Thank you.
Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI wonder *why* I write every day as well, sometimes. (Okay…often. Like, once a week or so.) And I always come to the same sort of conclusion.
I'm glad you do your celebrating here; I love reading about and looking at it. :) xo
:) I love how you love them. It makes me happy.
ReplyDeleteNoey has fallen in love with his own dino's. I wish they could play together.
