two days

Wednesday morning looked like Shakespeare.
The Taming of the Shrew.  Following that were discussions of male dominance and sexism and Pretruchio... and free will and how someone changes.  :?

Next up was a little bit from the Khan Academy.  Sal is a little (muchly!) more friendly.

Around that time I remembered that I have been meaning to find some dice games to play with little Maddie and Trevy.  I'm still on the search, though I did find and mark a few.  (More on that later, no doubt.)

Trev wants to play Minecraft, Multiplayer.
Uh...
I had to do some digging.
I knew there were some servers for unschooled children, but I didn't know where.
I asked around, and got pointed to a couple of Unschooling Gamers sites.  Cool!
Which is really, really cool for us, as Little Son loves to visit with others... but would sometimes rather do it in his pajamas and in the comfort of his own home.  :)  (Like him's Mama.)
So--cool!  We're on the road to playing virtually with other kids, Skype and Minecraft style.
In those travels, I found a couple of interesting games.
Terraria and MIT's Scratch.
Cool, again.

Doesn't sound like much, does it?
But that was pretty much my whole day.  :)

Day two....
Thursday I had to get right on that game list.  I had started it, but only barely.
So that took a while.  :)

Eventually I was done, and came up for air.
I put Quarto in front of Eric, and said "Play with me."  ??  :)  He did.

Maddie had to get in on that action.

 

Trevy and I played one of those dice games I was talking about....

this one was rolling two dice, adding the numbers, trying to get to 100 points.  You had to figure odds, because you can roll as long as you like, but if you get a "one", your turn goes back to "zero".  If you get double ones, you lose your accumulated score.  Trev ended with 103, I ended with zip.   (Seriously!  Every dang time I rolled a one on my first or second roll!!! :))

Then the three of us played Rat-a-Tat Cat.  Love that game.
