This weekend has been quite the Educating one.
We have -thanks to ASN (across the street neighbor... maybe we should call her Blondie hereafter)- discovered such things as
hilarious cat in a box videos,
some peanut butter and jelly song that my children are crazy about
Weird Al Yankovic
the song Another One Bites the Dust
that friends sometimes bite back
and... today... most auspiciously of all, perhaps...
that after living in this house for six years -six years!- with pretty much no neighborhood children (aside from Blondie, but I think her Mama wasn't too sure about "the naturalists" across the street.... uh, No, I don't mean we go not dressed)...
... We have discovered BOYS!
We have two boys around the corner, and within five houses.
A ninety second walk from our front gate.
Boys. Two of them.
I can't help but think...
Hallelujah!
Not only for the friend factor, but also, perhaps more importantly...
He now has someone else to tell his butt and burp jokes to.
Here we go, then.....
Oh, how wonderful! I'm so excited for him and for you. I so wish we could find friends for my older daughter around here.
ReplyDeleteah, how fun!
ReplyDeleteI have never found the girl equivalent for the word "boystrous" !!! Yay for you!
ReplyDeleteaaaah! good for him. j is deserate for a (native english speaking) "buddy" his age right now. really desperate.
ReplyDeleteI hear you sister! What my boy Bill wouldn't do to live near a couple of like minded individuals too. He just wants to hang out with other boys and have fun after school. Possibly the fact he has four sisters might have something to do with needing some testosterone based fun too. Hope your boy has lots of adventures x
ReplyDeleteLove the title of this post...:)
ReplyDeleteIt is so helpful to have friends to share all the bodily function humor with and the crashing car derbys and the let's blow up the kitchen with science experiments!!
Yee Haw for boys!
That's great for Trev, I bet he is loving that! We don't have that many children around us as well...the 13yo boy next door comes over and plays tag and soccer with the girls often, but that's it. We have to "ship in" the friends.
ReplyDeleteBoys! My guys need more boys too. We have lots of girls, but lacking on the boys. Yeah!
ReplyDeleteOh, yay!!! Boys are awesome!
