november two-three

SnowPlay for Maddie
SnowPlay for Mama.

Maddie wanted to have a snowball fight after breakfast.
So we invited Trevy.

Which led to neighborhood explorations.

And we played with multiplication over snacks.

Lego Star Wars

and Holiday cards
while listening to Christmas music

tattoosWhat else would follow a Christmas card but a Halloween tatt?

hot cocoa

Earthopoly.
The first time we've played.
You've got to love a game like this. Adding small numbers quickly (the dice), adding large numbers (money), thinking about carbon footprints, reading, and learning, such as:
(my first property I purchased)

"Cavernous Caves: A cave is a natural air filled void large enough for a human to enter. It may be underground, in the side of a hill or mountain, or under a cliff. Caves are formed in a variety of rocks: limestone, granite, sandstone, even ice. They take form when water or wind runs through an area with enough force to dissolve or wear away the rock. Caves can also be formed from flowing lava, and are called lava tubes. Some people suggest that the term 'cave' should only apply to cavities that have some part which does not receive daylight; however, in popular usage, the term includes smaller spaces like sea caves, rock shelters, and grottos.
Go Green! The amount of wood and paper we throw out every year is enough to heat 50,000,000 homes for 20 years."
Trevy got Colorful Coral Reefs and Glistening Glaciers.
Now how could you not love a game like that?

Gingerbread Men dough!
Back to our game - with Daddy, this time-

and an hour later, the babes drop out of the game and Mama and Daddy continue to play....

and - just like in the old days - it's four hours later, soon. :)
it's been a loooooooong time since we've done that, as I'm sure you well know.

We're good.
And happy.
And it's bedtime.

We'll see you tomorrow.

  1. Love, love, love Mama's snow play. And I swear the gingerbread men dough tickled my nose. And those sweet kiddoes all bundled up!

  2. Sweet. Love the last picture.

That sounds like a lovely 'opoly' game. These new variations are much more fun for me than the original.

I can't wait until my kids are old enough to want to play 'Risk'.

  4. I think I might have to get that game! We still haven't had any snow here in VT. It's been the strangest November-all sunny and warm.

  6. Love your mama snow play! That's the kind of play I like most. :-)

Did Trevyn get his haircut? If that last pic really is him, it looks great.. it looks great even if it isn't him, but you know what I mean! ;-)

Thanks for the anniversary wishes! :-)

  9. Kyan loves the snow! He wants to go out constantly, and Damek doesn't. Well the other day Lee and the boys took a walk with Echo and they came home freezing from having a snowball fight. Damek requested that Lee just stand there while he hit him with snowballs, so Lee obliged him and got it in the face a couple times.

That game sounds fun! You just reminded me that Damek wanted 'Night Sky Monopoly' after we visited Bryce Canyon (figured I could get it cheaper than at the visitor's center).
