Does it just fill you with deliciousness when you hear your children using beautiful words in their regular conversations and observations?
sigh.
I so admire and appreciate these two little friends of mine.
Binky says things that truly blow my mind sometimes. He's been using big, beautiful words since he could talk. His favorite word right now is "rhetorical." He gets a kick out of using it.
ReplyDeleteIt's cool spending our days with these little humans, isn't it?? We are so lucky!
have a great week

My dad used to ask "How do they know these words? Their vocabullary is amazing".
ReplyDeleteIt's because we talk to them like people!
It is so much fun when they come out with something that you didn't realize they knew.
My little word man never ceases to amaze me either.... words are so fun, and full and powerful too.
ReplyDeleteOwen's been having a blast with all the wonderful word play books by Jon Agee ~ {jonagee.com } :0)
Yes it does - we love words here - and Scout will sometimes roll his eyes when I launch into the Latin etymology of some word or other...so funny...
ReplyDeleteYES!!!! I am a word freak and love reading the dictionary. I love hearing words we use appear in conversations like it is no big deal. Smooth as silk. I love when I use words and the boys ask the definition...once...and then can use it seamlessly in conversations from there onward. So awesome. I could listen to it all day.
ReplyDeleteNice list. :)
Oh, yes, this is a wonderful list!! We're thrilled around here this week for the use of "yes" and "hand" and the easy distinction between "mama" (me) and "mommy" (my partner); I can imagine the thrill of those later words, but the awe is the same.
