september 18: curriculum

Mama and Maddie get to go shopping (for all that fabulous fabulousness above), and Daddy and Trev get to stay home and watch a Cooper's Hawk (Eric's or Trev's picture) carry a bird around three of our trees, and finally land in the backyard next door to eat his bird... too big to carry.

A fine day!
Can't wait to start playin' tomorrow....

  1. Ok, the green insect - what IS that? We have them here, but I have not yet been able to ID them. Help!

The hawk is gorgeous. And the work the little ones have been doing? Looks like fun!

  3. Oh i love "curriculum" shopping. I do it once a fortnight at the local ed store. its rather expensive so i just get the sale items. I went to buy those dice last week and they were $35. Dare i ask how much you paid for them?

  4. whooee! Certainly not $35, I can tell you that!!!
I paid... (have to go see) $2.95 (usd).

    Once a fortnight!!
Good grief, I wish I could go that often. I'd be flying off to another country a few times a year. Mine will do me for several months!-- with just a bit here and there.

  5. i had to ask didn't i. Pays to shop around. Just glad i thought twice before buying them. We were going to make them instead. I spend about $50 a fortnight, stickers, workbooks, stamps and educational toys. Its a real treat for both me and Ellie

  6. We prob'ly spend close to that on average... when you count software, toys, library fines, renewing memberships, etc. :)
This was a big shopping trip, though. Haven't done that in a while.
Had to buy cardstock (sheesh that's expensive!), pc paper, sticker paper, games, toys, etc et cetera.
I wasn't expecting to find anything since I was going looking...usually I only find treasures when I haven't any extra money!

  7. Lots and lots of great stuff. I'm hoping to make a stop at Michael's today to get myself some goodies.

  8. Nice curriculum - especially the rainbow and hawk! I've seen your timeline and I think it's awesome. I've told other people about it too. Our basement has block walls and too much junk to make a nice timeline down there. Hopefully, someday we'll make it more useful. I work on it from time to time but having the whole room organized all at once is just too much for me right now. I do have some big plans for that room though.

  9. YES YES YES, what a joy when most are changing their routines and adjusting their schedules to just go on living and enjoying our daily exploration of life.
